ISRI, Stina seeking plastic survey takers

The Washington-based Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) is seeking additional respondents to a plastics recycling survey it has organized along with California-based consulting firm Stina Inc.

The Annual Plastic Recycling Survey for 2022 is seeking documentation of recycled postconsumer, postcommercial and postindustrial plastic processed in North America or exported for recycling.

“ISRI is asking all plastic recyclers to participate in this important survey that will help more accurately reflect the worldwide impact of the North American recycled materials industry’s contributions to a sustainable supply chain,” ISRI President Robin Wiener says. “Our partnership with Stina on this important project is essential to gaining more accurate data on plastic recycling.”

Recyclers and traders able to participate in the survey are being asked by ISRI to send an email to emailinfo@stinainc.com for access to the survey by this Sept. 30.

ISRI says participant data is completely confidential and all data is released in aggregated formats only.

According to the trade group, Stina has conducted the survey for more than 10 years and “works with participants in any way to securely obtain data, including a survey process that works best to providing individual participant data.”
