The Grove City, Ohio-based Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) has announced requests for proposals (RFPs) for two types of equipment or components pertaining to its municipal solid waste (MSW) operations.
The agency, which manages waste and recycling collection, processing and disposal in the Columbus, Ohio, region, has issued one RFP for a transfer station material handler while the second RFP involves tires found on several pieces of landfill equipment.
SWACO says an RFP for material handler No. 2 at its Jackson Pike Transfer Station in Ohio can be accessed via the bids section of its website.
The Jackson Pike facility in Columbus will remain open during the handler’s installation, according to SWACO, so the successful bidder will be responsible for performing construction without obstructing daily operations and maintaining power to the site.
SWACO expects bidders to undertake an installation process that will take no longer than five weeks and invites potential bidders to schedule site visits by Oct. 14.
Sealed proposal bids must be received by SWACO no later than 1:30 p.m. Eastern on Oct. 24.
Another RFP issued by SWACO involves its purchase of various sizes of new tires for its landfill construction equipment, transfer station loaders and other offroad equipment that will be shipped intermittently throughout the year.
“This RFP is for purchasing various sizes of new tires, tire repairs and tire call-out services for all of SWACO’s offroad equipment during 2025 and 2028,” SWACO says.
Proposals to supply the tires should be submitted to SWACO by Oct. 23, and details of the RFP can be accessed in the bids section of the SWACO website.
