Synagro Technologies Inc., a Baltimore-based sustainable solutions provider for biosolids, organics and residuals, has released its 2024 sustainability report.
Last year, Synagro enabled its customers to avoid more than two million metric tons of CO2e by using its services to convert biosolids, organics and residuals into fertilizer.
According to the report, Synagro managed 16 million tons of biosolids, organics and residuals in 2024, converting more than 80 percent of residuals into fertilizers and recycling 2.4 billion gallons of liquid biosolids. The company also reduced Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emission by 7 percent year on year and reduced the annual total recordable incident rate (TRIR) by 12 percent.

“As we look towards the future, Synagro will continue to tackle some of the most pressing issues in our industry while innovating and partnering with like-minded organizations,” Synagro President and Chief Financial Officer Kaivan Desai says.
This new report marks the third year of the company’s Sustainable Growth plan, which Synagro says prioritizes “a greener world, passionate people and transparent integrity.” The 2024 report outlines the company's strategies, current actions, goals, case studies and performance metrics for the calendar year ending Dec. 31, 2024.
