United Kingdom-based Terex Recycling Systems has launched a new electric trommel screen. The TTS-620SE Static Electric Trommel Screen is primarily designed for screening compost and organics, and can also be used for biomass, soil, gravel and waste applications.
The electric trommel screen is a compact, self-contained solution for waste processing, the company says, offering operators versatility, productivity and serviceability.
“As our customers strive to reduce their operating costs and improve efficiencies, the TTS-620SE provides them with proven feeding and screening technology from Terex’s existing mobile portfolio, coupled with low energy consumption, service and maintenance costs,” says Kenny Hull, product and commercial manager for Terex Recycling Systems.

The electric drive system offers significantly reduced operating costs in comparison to traditional diesel power, according to the company. Additionally, it says, the systems offer minimal noise levels, promoting quieter operation and increased uptime due to a reduced maintenance schedule compared with a conventional diesel-driven machine.
The unit is offered with both basic and intelligent feed options to cater for various user requirements and material streams. The trommel screen can be used independently as a standalone unit or integrated into either a new or preexisting recycling plant. An electric head-driven feed conveyor provides consistent material feed onto the screening drum to enhance screening efficiency and throughput, according to the company.
Features include a 5.5m by 2.0m screening drum, modular design for standalone use or plant integration, a fully electric efficient drive system and intuitive control with optional intelligent feed system.
Terex is a global manufacturer of materials processing machinery and aerial work platforms providing products for construction, maintenance, manufacturing, energy, recycling, minerals and materials management applications.
