TXP Environmental, Houston, has acquired the Diamond Back Recycling and Sanitary Landfill in Odessa, Texas.

Diamond Back first began accepting volume in 2025 and quickly scaled to one of the larger disposal outlets in the region, according to TXP. Prior to acquisition, the landfill was owned and operated by Michael Valenzuela, who in August 2024 also sold Basin Disposal to TXP.

“We are happy to have partnered with TXP Environmental again,” Valenzuela says. “They have been great partners, and I am excited to see Chuck, Ray and the entire TXP team continue to grow Diamond Back going forward.”

“We are excited to have Diamond Back as part of the TXP platform and to have partnered with Michael again,” TXP CEO and Board Chair Chuck Casalinova says. “This will further bolster our operations in the West Texas region and make us one of the few vertically integrated, privately held waste companies in the state of Texas.”

TXP says the landfill represents a significant growth opportunity for the company as it continues to ramp volume in the coming years. The facility is permitted to accept both municipal solid waste (MSW) and construction & demolition (C&D) materials.

Diamond Back represents the fifth acquisition to date for TXP under the ownership of NMS Capital.

Alongside the transaction TXP executed a new secured credit facility with Stonepeak Credit.

“In addition to supporting the acquisition of Diamond Back, our new credit facility provides fresh capital to support organic growth initiatives across the state and additional strategic acquisitions,” TXP Chief Financial Officer Joe Scarano says.
