Boston-based Veolia North America, in the newest version of its annual sustainability report, says its efforts in that area included helping clients and communities reduce waste and CO2 emissions.
The business unit of France-based Veolia says in one instance, the company’s efforts helped food products maker Danone North America divert 40 tons of waste from landfills.
“More and more we are seeing companies, especially in the manufacturing sector, move toward zero waste solutions,” Veolia North America executive vice president and chief operating officer Bob Cappadona says in the report. “Our team successfully collaborated with Danone to help the company meet its goal. I look forward to our future work together as Danone continues moving toward zero waste to landfill across their plants.”
Other sustainability efforts on behalf of clients led to reductions in energy use and the recirculation and reuse of water.
“I am thrilled that our company remains focused on circularity and ecological transformation, delivering the essential services that people rely on to persevere,” says Brian Clarke, president and CEO of Veolia North America. “Veolia North America is committed to solving green challenges and delivering innovative, creative solutions for the future. We are providing superior service while protecting our environment and meeting our mission goals around sustainability.”
