Vogelsang USA, a Ravenna, Ohio-based manufacturer of technology for the agricultural, biogas, industrial, transportation and wastewater sectors, has announced the launch of the CC-Mix, marketed as a versatile and efficient solution for biogas plant operators designed to simplify the processing of diverse feedstocks.
The company says the CC-Mix excels in mashing a variety of organic materials into a homogeneous organic suspension ideal for fermentation.
The CC-Mix can handle renewable resources, flowable solid matter such as maize silage and grain waste, as well as slightly pasty materials like fruit and vegetable waste, sugar beet pulp and dry chicken manure, broadening the range of feedstocks usable in biogas plants.
Its power requirements of 11-15 kW make it an energy-efficient choice, the company says, while its robust mixing capabilities create optimal conditions for bacteria in digesters.
Vogelsang says the CC-Mix incorporates a range of features to maximize efficiency and minimize operational disruptions. Key features include:
- An integrated foreign matter separator to ensure heavy materials like stones and metal parts are removed before reaching the pump, protecting the unit from damage.
- Compact design and simplified controls for easy integration into biogas plants, and ability to feed multiple digesters from a single unit.
- QuickService concept to reduce downtime during service and maintenance, with key components such as the rotor and stator designed to swivel out as a unit for quick removal.
- Optional control technology, wide-screen touch display and two-stage geometry
