Waste Harmonics, a Rochester, New York-based waste management company providing service brokering in the waste industry, has announced Ryan Shannon has joined its leadership team as chief financial officer (CFO). With almost 20 years’ experience, Shannon brings extensive experience to his role, having held senior-level positions with CooperVision, Lake Forest, California, and Constellation Brands, Victor, New York.
“We are very excited to have Ryan join our team with his 20 years of financial experience and strategic drive to continually grow and improve Waste Harmonic’s finance department and the company overall,” Michael Hess, Waste Harmonics CEO and founder, says.
Having served in a leadership capacity with multiple large public companies, Shannon will help drive the financial strategy within the company in his new role. His main responsibilities will focus on managing the company's finances, including financial planning, managing financial risks, record-keeping and financial reporting.
“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to lead the finance organization at Waste Harmonics,” Shannon said. “I’m excited to work with the team to implement strategic planning initiatives and help drive strong financial results for this rapidly growing company.”
Shannon holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and economics from Syracuse University and an MBA with a concentration in finance and accounting from the University of Rochester Simon Business School. In addition to serving as regional controller at CooperVision and finance director at Constellation Brands, he also previously served as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers, London. He is a certified public accountant in the state of New York.
