Waste Management (WM), Houston, has acquired a St. Joseph, Missouri, hauling company, a report by News Press Now says. WM purchased Keep It Clean Disposal in September.
Through this acquisition and its purchased of Deffenbaugh Disposal, Kansas City, Missouri, in 2015, WM purchased 1,300 commercial accounts, 6,000 residential accounts and some local roll-off dumpster jobs. The report says Keep It Clean merged with RSP Trash Disposal several years ago and kept the Keep It Clean name.
Paul Howe, manager of community relations for WM, says in the report that WM uses the landfill owned by the city of St. Joseph but uses a transfer station it operates in Wathena, Kansas, more often. WM owns several transfer stations in Missouri, including those previously owned by Deffenbaugh. The report says a large amount of collected waste goes to the Wathena transfer station and then to a landfill in Johnson County, Kansas.
Rebranding of the trucks and containers will take place over time, the report says. Howe says in the report that the rebranding will occur as replacement assets are handed out.
