A large fire broke out at Waste Management’s Norton, Massachusetts, facility, engulfing 10 waste trucks in the process. The two-alarm fire occurred around 6 a.m. Sept. 6, and fire departments from several surrounding communities came to extinguish the fire, reports WCVB 5.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, according to Waste Management spokesperson Garrett Trierweiler. The Massachusetts Department of Fire Services is investigating the fire to determine what started the blaze.
The fire took seven hours to extinguish as firefighters removed burning trash from the trucks to ensure the flame was extinguished. No additional trucks or equipment were damaged in the fire, WCVB 5 reports.
