Waste Pro, Longwood, Florida, announced July 21 that it has acquired Atlanta-based AmeriSouth Recycling’s area business.
The arrangement, which began to be negotiated in June, expands the industrial customer base of Waste Pro’s Atlanta materials recovery facility (MRF). AmeriSouth’s industrial recycling business—most of which is comprised of corrugated cardboard—will now be collected and processed by Waste Pro. As part of the arrangement, AmeriSouth’s Atlanta site has closed and all business will now be based out of Waste Pro’s Atlanta MRF.
“This allows us to be a full-service company for all the recycling needs of industrial businesses in the Atlanta market,” Waste Pro Vice President of Recycling Will Howard says. “Our MRF can take any recyclable materials companies may have—baled or loose, delivered or picked up—we can do it all.”
