Waste Pro’s Fort Myers division based in Florida has received a 2018 Communicator Award of Excellence for its educational series of videos for Cape Coral residents.
The Communicator Awards is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts, an invitation-only group consisting of professionals from acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative and marketing firms. The award is given to winners whose work “transcends innovation and craft [and makes] a lasting impact.”
The city of Cape Coral presented the award, which was given in the online video category, to Division Manager Bill Jones on Jan. 14.
The videos for which Waste Pro received the award dealt with yard waste, recycling and solid waste collection. The Fort Myers team worked with local production company 1Pro Media to create the videos.
This is the second consecutive year Waste Pro’s Fort Myers division has won an award for its educational videos for Cape Coral residents. Last year, the team won a 2017 Silver Davey Award, which recognizes efforts of small agencies in the fields of web, design, video, advertising, mobile and social.
Waste Pro is headquartered in Longwood, Florida, and maintains more than 265 exclusive municipal contracts and franchises.
