Waste Pro USA Inc. has announced Jesse Murphy has been promoted to regional vice president of Louisiana.

Murphy has more than 30 years of experience in the waste industry and joined the Waste Pro family in 2015 as the operations manager in New Orleans and Baton Rouge before quickly being promoted to site manager.

He then worked his way up to division manager of New Orleans, where he was responsible for overseeing 35 employees and operating 28 trucks in the hauling and transfer station that services the New Orleans area. In 2019, the Longwood, Florida, company promoted him to divisional vice president of the Louisiana market.

Also in the Louisiana territory, Waste Pro has hired Corey Staab as manager of the New Orleans division. Staab has a background with two large, publicly traded companies where he focused on logistics, finance and safety.

“I’m very excited to be joining the New Orleans team of Waste Pro,” Staab says. “Building relationships and providing excellent service are what it’s all about.”

As regional vice president, Murphy will continue to lead Waste Pro’s operations in Louisiana, which includes New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Houma, Geismar and Covington. That area includes three landfills, one in New Orleans and two in the Baton Rouge area. Waste Pro services more than 75,000 residential and commercial customers in the Louisiana market.

“The Louisiana team is a talented and dedicated group of waste professionals,” Waste Pro Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President Keith Banasiak says. “Under Jesse’s continued leadership, as a team, they will continue to focus on providing the highest level of customer service while providing long-lasting careers to more than 250 employees in the great state of Louisiana. There is much more growth throughout the state, and, with his core values and embodiment of the Waste Pro Way, Jesse continues to lead by example with a focus on people, equipment and safety.”

In New Orleans, Staab will oversee more than 42,000 residential and commercial customers and manage more than 100 local employees.

“This market is full of opportunity,” says Murphy. “Corey knows the industry and holds the keys to success to bring continued growth into 2023 and beyond.”
