Longwood, Florida-based Waste Pro has been named the third largest privately owned company in central Florida by the Orlando Business Journal in its annual Golden 100 list. This is the seventh consecutive year the company has ranked in the top five on the list.
“To be honored in our hometown with this ranking on the Orlando Business Journal’s Golden 100 is a testament to the hard work of our people, our Waste Pros,” says Sean Jennings, president and CEO of Waste Pro.
“To rank within the top five companies for seven straight years is a reminder of how far my father took this incredible company that he created, and his trust in me to continue his legacy,” Jennings adds. “We continue to lead by example in caring for our communities. This is a 100-year company, so this is just the beginning for us; we plan to continue to grow, innovate and look forward to the future.”
Waste Pro was founded by its current Executive Board Chair John Jennings in 2001. His son, Sean, was named president and CEO in 2021.
The company operates in 10 Southeastern states, with its largest presence in its home state of Florida. Waste Pro provides residential, commercial and industrial solid waste and recycling services to more than 2 million customers, employing more than 4,600 people and managing a fleet of more than 3,200 trucks operating from 90 locations. The company also operates 25 landfills and 11 transfer stations and says it expects to exceed $1.1 billion in revenue this year.
