Two Waste Pro collection employees based in Sanford, Florida, helped answer the call when a resident on their route came to them in distress during a recent shift.
Driver Curtis Davis and helper Travis Barfield were working their route in Longwood, Florida, when a man flagged them down for help. It turned out his wife had fallen the night before and he was unable to lift her back up on his own. According to Waste Pro, Davis and Barfield quickly jumped into action and helped lift the woman onto a sofa. The husband and wife assured the crew she was OK at that point and did not need any further medical assistance.
“You have two great gentlemen in your company,” the woman’s daughter, Kim, later wrote in a letter to Waste Pro Division Manager Eric Saxton. “Curtis and Travis helping without hesitation the way they did just fills my heart and soul.”
Davis and Barfield both received $100 “Franklin Awards,” which Waste Pro awards to company employees who go above and beyond providing exemplary service.
