Australian WTE event scheduled for February

The Australian Industrial Ecology Network (AIEN) has scheduled its third annual Australian Waste to Energy Forum for Feb. 20-22, 2018, at the Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.

Dr. Stuart Wagland, senior lecturer in energy and environmental chemistry at Cranfield University in the United Kingdom has been invited by the event’s program committee as a keynote. His presentation will address the topic “Making waste to energy fit.”

In promoting its event, the AIEN states, “Modern incineration technologies are globally well-established; however, these facilities are typically large-scale. Recent research has highlighted that advanced thermal treatment has a role to play in smaller-scale applications. [Wagland’s] talk will cover recent commercial setbacks, development needs and discuss opportunities in future waste management and low carbon energy scenarios.”

AIEN also indicates the event is designed to attract a national and international, senior-level audience and to offer “an unparalleled opportunity for high-level networking and the development of serious business contacts.”
