With the demand for secondary raw materials and alternative sources of energy on the rise, there has never been a better time for companies to consider a size reduction solution for mixed waste, according to Weima, Fort Mill, South Carolina. The company adds plant-based waste processing equipment offer many benefits, including the production of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) from municipal solid waste and the ability to transport and dispose of materials in a more cost-effective way.
This is why the shredder manufacturer says it is returning to WasteExpo. Weima manufactures a line of heavy-duty machinery that is specifically developed for waste applications. These shredders have a robust design and specific rotor features which directly address the challenges of shredding high volumes and various mixed materials, according to the company.
Weima’s line of waste-to-energy equipment includes preshredders, which can be used as the first step in shredding dirty or contaminated materials. Following this step, materials can be pre-treated or sorted using screens, separators or a magnetic system. At that point, the pre-processed materials can be introduced into the Weima secondary shredder for further reduction to be used as an alternative fuel source.
Weima has been manufacturing and distributing shredding machinery for a wide range of applications with customers in the plastic, wood, paper, and waste recycling industries. The Weima Group has about 170 employees with sales locations in Europe, North and South America and Asia. The production range includes single-shaft shredders, four-shaft shredders, briquette presses and systems including accessories.
Waste Expo will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, June 2-4. Weima America will be exhibiting at booth #2397.
