Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada-based Westward Industries has supplied a GO-4 XTR Hauler for use at the National Mall area in Washington, D.C.

The GO-4 XTR is being used to collect and haul garbage to be dumped into a centralized container. Westward says the street-legal, automatic XTR can haul up to 800 pounds and is replacing a non-street legal diesel utility terrain vehicle (UTV).

Westward describes the GO-4 XTR as an ideal vehicle for small commercial and municipal applications that “offers extreme ease  of entry from each side for drivers, eliminating the need to walk around the entire vehicle for access.”

The small vehicle has a turning radius of 10 feet, and has been equipped with a

drivetrain and automotive grade components that will allow it stay on the job for many years, according to Westward.

The National Mall area hosts millions of visitors each year, including tourists visiting nearby museums with exhibits on aircraft,  missiles, rockets and other flight-related artifacts.

Westward Industries describes itself as one of the largest manufacturers of task-specific on-road vehicles in North America. Its vehicles can be found in urban areas and on university, hospital and corporate campuses.
