West Salem Machinery, Salem, Oregon, says via release that its wood fiber processing systems are designed to grind pallets, pallet scrap, construction wood waste, dry trim ends and other dry waste wood into marketable fiber, including animal bedding.
According to the company, one of its typical systems starts with batch loading material to a chain metering bin, which delivers waste wood to a disc screen as overs are sent to a primary grinder which reduces material.
Recyclers can produce finished-size fiber through the company’s Super Shredder with air assist or full air discharge, the company says. Finally, fiber value can be enhanced by screening based on finished product specifications with oscillating or vibrating screens for more precise classification. Additionally, grinder maintenance can be mitigated with first-stage metal capture prior to secondary processing, helping recyclers save time and money, the company says.
